An interesting fact is that no nails were used in its construction.

This is because it is the entrance to the Temple - Thousands of people go through there each day (although when I took the picture there was only a very few going up the steps (might be because most Japanese temples close at sunset). You can see many more pictures of this beautiful place during different times of the year here [link] if you are interested. Also thanks very much for all the fav's, really glad you liked them : )
